Cobra commando killed in encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

The gunfight took place in Palachalma forest under Kistaram police station limits when a team of the 208th battalion of the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) was out on an anti-Naxal operation. Introducing The Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said the legislation will end bogus voting in the country and make the electoral process more credible. The bill seeks to allow electoral registration officers to seek the Aadhaar number of people who want to register as voters "for the purpose of establishing the identity". During the meeting held in November, the committee for empanelment of adjunct faculty recommended a monthly honorarium up to a maximum of Rs 80,000 (at Rs 4,000 per day) New Delhi: Delhi University's executive council will discuss a proposal for paying honorarium and extending other facilities to international adjunct faculty. The Executive Council, which is the highest decision making body of the university, will have a meeting on December 17. In their meetings in August, the Academic Council and Executive Council had approved the recommendation for empanelment of adjunct faculty in the university for value addition and internationalisation of academic activities. The proposal for fixing their monthly honorarium will be discussed in the December 17 meeting. India Tuesday successfully flight tested the indigenously developed new Vertical Launch Short Range Surface-to-Air Missile from Odisha coast here, Defence Reserach and Development Organisation (DRDO) said. The DRDO-developed quick reaction surface-to-air-missile was test launched from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur near here at about 3.08 pm, an official of the organisation said. To monitor the missile's trajectories number of tracking instruments were used. The missile has an operational range of 50 to km distance and features mid course inertial guidance through fiber optic gyroscope and active radar homing in terminal phase, he said.
