Ahmedabad announced as official host city of Commonwealth Games 2030
India were announced as the hosts for the Commonwealth Games 2030. Ahmedabad is set to host the competition. The centenary edition is set to feature between 15-17 sports disciplines. Ahmedabad has been officially confirmed as the host city for the 2030 Centenary Commonwealth Games, giving India a major global sporting event for the first time since it hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2010 in Delhi. Delegates from 74 Commonwealth member nations and territories approved India’s bid during the Commonwealth Sport General Assembly in Glasgow. India’s vision for the 2030 Games positioned Ahmedabad, or Amdavad, as a modern and culturally rich city capable of staging a memorable Centenary edition. The proposal built on the foundations that will be laid by Glasgow 2026 and showcased India’s youth, ambition and strong sporting culture.
