The police suspect that the law student was gangraped since she turned down the marriage proposal of the main accused. Kolkata Gangrape Case : Monojit Mishra, the prime accused in the Kolkata gangrape case, had allegedly met some people hours before his arrest and the police are still trying to identify them, reported PTI, citing an official aware of the matter. A 24-year-old first-year student of the South Calcutta Law College was allegedly gang-raped inside the institution by an alumnus and two senior students. Mishra, Zaid Ahmed and Promit Mukherjee have been arrested in the case. The police are trying to identify the people Monojit Mishra met before being arrested by the Kolkata police. The investigators were also checking if the other two accused - Zaid Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee - also contacted any person before they were picked up by the police.
