Punjab: Two Babbar Khalsa International operatives arrested after encounter with police

Punjab Police on Tuesday conducted a special cordon and search operation (CASO) near all bus terminuses and railway stations across the state and arrested 24 alleged criminals, officials said. The CASO named "Ops Eagle-III" was conducted from 12 pm to 3 pm simultaneously in all 28 police districts. The Punjab police arrested two operatives handled from abroad by the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) after a brief encounter, said DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav in a post on X on Thursday. One of the accused received a bullet injury in his leg and the police took him to a nearby hospital. Sopore Encounter: A terrorist was killed by security forces in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, two terrorists are still surrounded. Amritsar encounter: Moosewala's shooters Jagroop Roopa and Mannu Kusa killed; 3 cops injured

  Amritsar, July 20:  Two gangsters, identified as Jagroop Singh Rupa and Manpreet Singh alias Manu Kusa, were killed in an encounter by the Punjab Police that last for more than four hours in Amritsar on Wednesday. They were involved in the killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala, Additional Director General of Police Pramod Ban told mediapersons after the encounter. Three policemen were also injured. It is learnt that the shooters killed in the encounter were in Corolla when Moosewala was murdered in Mansa on May 29. "Heavy exchange of fire took place today, 2 gangsters involved in Sidhu Moose Wala case namely Jagroop Singh Roopa & Manpreet Singh killed. 2 army personnel killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district

Two army personnel were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Friday. "In an ongoing counter-terrorism operation in the general area of Nar Khas forest in Mendhar sub-division, there was an exchange of fire between army troops and terrorists during the evening hours of Thursday," a defence public relations officer (PRO) was quoted as saying in a PTI report. Two army personnel were critically injured  in the exchange of fire and they succumbed to their injuries on Friday. Meanwhile, one junior commissioned officer (JCO) went missing. Officials said that efforts are being made to trace the missing JCO but the area is prone to danger. The two deceased army personnel have been identified as riflemen Vikram Singh Negi (26) and Yogambar Singh (27). Rifleman Negi was a resident of Viman village in Uttarakhand's Tehri Garhwal district while rifleman Singh hailed from Chamoli district's Sankari village in Uttarakhand....
