IPS officer suicide: Chandigarh Chief Secretary, top cop asked to submit report

Y Puran Kumar, a 2001-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer who was recently posted as the inspector general of the Police Training Centre in Rohtak's Sunaria, was found dead on Tuesday with a gunshot wound in his residence in Chandigarh's Sector 11. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has directed the Chandigarh Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to submit an action-taken report within seven days in connection to the suicide case of Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. Y. Puran Kumar (52), a 2001-batch IPS officer, was found dead at his residence in Chandigarh on Tuesday. His body, bearing a gunshot wound, was discovered in a basement room.
