Suspected ISIS Terrorist Arrested In Chhattisgarh's Durg District

Wajihuddin, a resident of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, was held from Smriti Nagar under Supela police station area of the district, Durg Police said in a statement. Durg:  A suspected "ISIS terrorist" was arrested by a joint team of the Uttar Pradesh ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad) and Chhattisgarh police from Chhattisgarh's Durg district on Wednesday, officials said. Wajihuddin, a resident of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh, was held from Smriti Nagar under Supela police station area of the district, Durg Police said in a statement. An Anti-Terrorist Squad unit of Jhansi came to Durg to track down Wajihuddin, against whom a case had been registered under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, by the ATS Lucknow, the statement said. Anti-terror probe agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Bihar man with Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) links in Delhi. Anti-terror probe agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a man in Delhi with terror outfit Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) links on Saturday. The NIA showed up at the accused, Mohsin Ahmad’s, house in Delhi’s Batla House Jogabai Extention and conducted a search operation.   The anti-terror probe agency arrested Mohsin Ahmad, son of Mohd Shakil Ahmad and a permanent resident of Bihar in a case pertaining to online and on-ground activities of the terrorist organization, ISIS. A case was registered suo-moto by the NIA on June 25 under Sections 153 A, and 153 B of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 18, 18B, 38, 39, and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. ISIS J&K chief Umar Nisar Bhat aka Qasim Khorasani has confessed to officials that Swat al-Hind magazine was regularly released in Pakistan and he was in touch with Pakistan-based teams on social media. Islamic State Jammu and Kashmir’s chief Umar Nisar Bhat aka Qasim Khorasani, arrested on Monday, had been talking on a messaging app about laying out ISIS propaganda in India by recruiting and radicalising “ground soldiers” and through his media outlet – Swat al-Hind (Voice of Hind), according to the exclusive interrogation report accessed by CNN-News18. Khorasani, who is based in Achabal in Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir as confirmed by the Indian intelligence agency, was arrested on Monday along with two of his associates — Tanveer Ahmed Bhat and Rameez Lone. He has been active in the region since 2016 and was responsible for supplying logistics, procuring arms and explosives and recruiting ISIS cadres in Jammu and Kashmir to carry out anti-India activities.
