Anti-terror probe agency NIA arrests man with ISIS links in Delhi

Anti-terror probe agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Bihar man with Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) links in Delhi.


Anti-terror probe agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a man in Delhi with terror outfit Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) links on Saturday.

The NIA showed up at the accused, Mohsin Ahmad’s, house in Delhi’s Batla House Jogabai Extention and conducted a search operation.

 

The anti-terror probe agency arrested Mohsin Ahmad, son of Mohd Shakil Ahmad and a permanent resident of Bihar in a case pertaining to online and on-ground activities of the terrorist organization, ISIS.

A case was registered suo-moto by the NIA on June 25 under Sections 153 A, and 153 B of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 18, 18B, 38, 39, and 40 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The arrested man is a radicalised and active member of ISIS. He has been arrested for his involvement in collecting funds for ISIS from sympathisers in India and abroad. He was further sending these funds to Syria and other places in the form of cryptocurrency in order to further the activities of ISIS.

The central agency will investigate the case further.
