The decision was taken after a high-level meeting between Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and top officials of the state government. During the meeting, health experts put forth their view on the devastating effects of the Delta Plus variant, the threat of the third wave of coronavirus, and upholding the value of human lives, the Dhami administration cancelled the annual pilgrimage this year. The yatra had been cancelled last year too due to the first wave of Covid-19.
