  Punjab News: Ex-soldier murdered after minor altercation in Tarn Taran. Punjab News:  An ex-soldier was murdered in Tarn Taran after a minor dispute. The family has accused local Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sharanjit Singh and his associates of stabbing him to death. The deceased has been identified as Gurmej Singh (40), a resident of Cheema Khurd village. Gurmej was a retired army officer. Family members said that Gurmej was standing in his village when some men surrounded him and killed him due to old enmity. DSP Jagjit Singh said that the police have registered a case. He assured that appropriate legal action will be taken against the culprits and no one will be spared. Forty-six-year-old Kavitha, the MLC daughter of former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, was arrested by the federal agency last week from her Hyderabad home and she is in the ED custody till March 23.
