Rainbow Diet Campaign: Government started Rainbow Diet campaign in tribal areas to remove malnutrition
The Rainbow Diet Campaign aims to popularize biofortified tubers and value-added products made from them among tribal communities to combat malnutrition and ensure a balanced diet. An agricultural research institute of the central government has launched an ambitious campaign in a village in Attappady, one of the tribal areas of Kerala, to promote the health and well-being of tribals. ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI), Thiruvananthapuram in collaboration with Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS), Pattambi has recently launched a program called 'Rainbow Diet Campaign'. The administration issued an official release stating that this is a field intervention program of ICAR-CTCRI to promote the production and use of biofortified Tuber Crops varieties developed in UGC.
