Patna, Dec 29:  The cops detained a Chinese woman suspected of spying on Dalai Lama in the Gaya district in Bihar on Thursday. "Police detain the suspected (Chinese) woman in Bodh Gaya in connection with an alleged threat to Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. She is being interrogated," JS Gangwar, ADG (headquarters) confirmed to ANI. A police officer has informed a daily that the intelligence officers are questioning the woman to know the reason behind her overstay in India and why she visited Gaya at a time when Dalai Lama is coming to the place. "She came to Dharmashala in 2020. Her visa is valid till 2024 but as per guidelines, she had to return after 90 days. She has violated that and now further action of deporting her will be taken. Pakistani boat carrying drugs worth Rs 300 crore seized along Gujarat Coast; 10 arrested

  New Delhi:  The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) and the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), in a joint operation early on Monday, apprehended a Pakistani boat with 10 crew members from Indian waters and found 40 kg narcotics worth Rs 300 crore on board it. “The security agencies also recovered six pistols and 120 rounds from the crew of the Pakistani boat which had started off from somewhere near Karachi,” news agency ANI reported citing defence officials. 16 soldiers killed as Army truck falls into gorge in Sikkim

  In a major road accident in North Sikkim 16 Indian army personnel have been martyred in a painful road accident. According to an army official, the incident took place in Gema, North Sikkim. The accident vehicle was part of a convoy of three vehicles, which had moved from Chatan towards Thangu in the morning. According to PRO Defense Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, the vehicle skidded down a steep slope at a sharp turn on the way to Jemaa. A rescue operation was immediately launched and four injured soldiers are being airlifted. Unfortunately, three Junior Commissioned Officers and 13 soldiers succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. Indian Army stands with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed grief over the incident. Deeply saddened by the loss of lives of Indian Army personnel due to a road accident in North Sikkim, he said.   The defence ministry said this unprecedented initiative of the DAC will not only modernize the Indian Armed Forces but also provide a substantial boost to the Indian Defence Industry towards the goal of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Keeping in mind the two-front war between China and Pakistan as well as the threat emanating from sea-route, the government today cleared a whopping Rs 85,000 crore for the procurement of advanced ammunition and technologies for enhancing the army's capabilities. The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) of the defence ministry accorded the approval for Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 24 Capital Acquisition Proposals. Ministry of Defence said in a series of tweets, "These proposals include six for Indian Army, six for IAF, 10 for Indian Navy and two proposals for Indian Coast Guard for a total value of Rs 84,328 crores. It is pertinent to mention that 21 proposals, worth Rs 82,127 crores (97.4%), are approved for procurement from indigenous sources." T
