Uphaar Fire Tragedy: Delhi Court asks police to obtain sanctions to prosecute businessman Sushil Ansal

The Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against Sushil Ansal under section 177 (furnishing false information) and 181 (False statement on oath) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 12 of Passport Act.   In a new development of the case related to the 1997 Uphaar cinema fire tragedy. the Patiala House Court directed the Delhi Police to procure/obtain requisite sanctions from the concerned authority to prosecute businessman Sushil Ansal in alleged fraud in passport renewal. CBI announces reward against five fugitives

The Central Bureau of Investigation has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for each of the five fugitives. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the post-poll violence in West Bengal on the directions of the Calcutta High Court, has issued a letter to the person or persons who helped nab five fugitives allegedly involved in the murder of a BJP worker in the city. The award was announced on Friday. An official of the investigating agency gave this information.   The investigating agency has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 each for nabbing each of the five fugitives, the official said.   According to the official, the five are absconding since the case was registered.   BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar was allegedly attacked and killed on May 2, 2021 after the state assembly elections in Kankurgachi area of ​​the city.   The Sealdah court of the city declared the five accused as absconders.   The five alleged fugitives are Amit Das, Tumpa Das, Arup Das, Sanjay Barik and Papiy

Delhi Metro launches special train to commemorate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

  As part of the ongoing ‘AzadiKaAmritMahotsav-celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence’ (AKAM), a specially decorated Metro train was launched in the presence of Dr. Mangu Singh, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and other senior officials at Yamuna Bank Metro Station on the Blue Line Tuesday morning. The train was inducted into passenger services immediately after the launch. The exterior of this eight-coach special train has been exclusively wrapped and decorated with collage of photographs and slogans depicting the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements in the last 75 years signifying the spirit of ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’. Shah was living in the tourist destination Mamallapuram, in the outskirts of Chennai and was running a shop known as ‘Indian Cottage Emporium’ at a private resort.  On instructions from Tamil Nadu’s Director General of Police, Sylendra Babu, searches were conducted on Javed’s premises on 24th December. While cops did not find the Parvati idol which they had been looking for, they seized 11 metal idols, of which eight were declared as antiques. Jalna:  The third wave of the coronavirus pandemic has started which will peak by January-end, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said in Jalna on Monday. He also said that the 14-day quarantine period has been halved to seven days. Mr Tope's remarks come on a day Maharashtra reported 33,470 new COVID-19 cases and eight fatalities. He appealed to the people to strictly follow the COVID-appropriate behaviour. "The third wave of the pandemic has started. It is expected to peak by January-end," Mr Tope told reporters. He expressed concerns over many political leaders not adhering to the pandemic protocols despite the rise in cases in Maharashtra. The health minister also appealed to political parties not to organise meetings and programmes. Quoting an Urdu proverb, 'Jaan hai to Jahaan hai', Mr Tope said that everyo
