CBI announces reward against five fugitives

The Central Bureau of Investigation has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for each of the five fugitives.


The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is probing the post-poll violence in West Bengal on the directions of the Calcutta High Court, has issued a letter to the person or persons who helped nab five fugitives allegedly involved in the murder of a BJP worker in the city. The award was announced on Friday. An official of the investigating agency gave this information.

 

The investigating agency has announced a reward of Rs 50,000 each for nabbing each of the five fugitives, the official said.

 

According to the official, the five are absconding since the case was registered.

 

BJP worker Abhijit Sarkar was allegedly attacked and killed on May 2, 2021 after the state assembly elections in Kankurgachi area of ​​the city.

 

The Sealdah court of the city declared the five accused as absconders.

 

The five alleged fugitives are Amit Das, Tumpa Das, Arup Das, Sanjay Barik and Papiya Barik.
