This change comes after US President Donald Trump issued an executive order directing the use of the term "Super Intelligence," or SI, in US executive branch offices, instead of "Artificial Intelligence," or AI.
Musk posted confirmation of the name change.
Elon Musk confirmed the name change to SpaceXAI in response to a user's question on the social media platform X. The user had asked if it could be renamed SpaceXSI . Musk replied, "Yes, we will make that change."
Apart from this, in another post, Musk wrote, "No more AI. SI, it's better."
The decision came after Trump's Executive Order.
The move follows US President Donald Trump's executive order issued on September 29. The order is titled "Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence."
Under this order, US executive departments and agencies have been directed to use the terms “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official correspondence, public communications, policy documents and non-statutory documents.
What did the White House say?
According to a fact sheet released by the White House, the purpose of this order is to recognize the rapidly advancing technological frontier and its possibilities for American citizens.
The order also directs the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology to propose a federal definition of “Super Intelligence” and “SI,” and to identify additional executive actions necessary to implement the proposed definition.
Musk has already spoken about Super Intelligence.
Elon Musk has previously expressed his views on superintelligence . He supported and contributed to Nick Bostrom's 2014 book , "Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies ." This book discusses the potential risks associated with uncontrolled superintelligence.
Musk has previously said that such technology could pose a greater threat than nuclear weapons.
