Hotel Fire: A fire broke out in a hotel in Birbhum district of West Bengal on Monday morning. Seven people died and nine others were seriously injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is believed to be a short circuit in the air conditioner.

According to information, a large number of devotees had reached the Tarapeeth temple on the eve of Sawan Monday. Many were staying in the Bidishni Hotel. At around 4:30 am, when people were sleeping, a fire broke out on the first floor of the hotel. The back door was closed, due to which people could not immediately get out.

As soon as the information was received, the fire brigade team reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The injured were taken to Rampurhat Government Medical College.

A woman and 2 children missing

Another woman said that she had come from South 24 Parganas to attend the puja on Sunday afternoon. Her mother and children were with her. Her mother was in room number one. Now, her mother and two children are missing.

A Kolkata woman who survived the accident said, "Suddenly the entire hotel was filled with smoke. We couldn't breathe and it was difficult to find a way out."

Fire hazard due to AC wiring fault

A short circuit in the AC can cause a sudden surge in current. This can cause the insulation in the AC wiring to heat up and burn, causing the wires to come into contact. Sparks can create a fire hazard.
