PM Modi Chandigarh Visit: Just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chandigarh, a bomb threat targeting the Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat on Friday triggered a major security alert. According to officials, a threatening message was received at the control room, due to which the officials were asked to immediately evacuate the secretariat building as a precaution.
Search operation by bomb disposal squad
Following the alert, bomb disposal squads and police teams reached the spot and conducted a thorough search of the entire secretariat complex. Security personnel cordoned off the area while officials ensured the safe evacuation of employees and visitors from the building.
Security tightened around the secretariat
In view of the Prime Minister's visit, security arrangements have been tightened considerably. Additional police personnel have been deployed on all traffic routes to the Secretariat, while surveillance has also been intensified in the surrounding areas.
Authorities are maintaining strict vigil to prevent any untoward incident.
Investigation launched into threat
Cyber experts and technical investigation teams have launched efforts to identify the source of the threat message and trace the person responsible for sending it. So far, authorities have not confirmed the recovery of any suspicious objects or explosive materials during the search operation.
