 A tree suddenly fell on a school bus in Mumbai's Chembur area, killing an 11-year-old student.


Mumbai: A major accident occurred in Mumbai, Maharashtra, when a tree fell on a school bus. At the time of the tree fall, 12 schoolchildren were on board. The bus belonged to Universal School in Tilak Nagar. Several children were injured in the accident. An 11-year-old boy died. The student's name was Vihaan Srivastava.


According to reports, the accident occurred at 2:50 pm in the Chembur area of Mumbai. The bus was passing through Road No. 11 when a tree suddenly fell on it. Ten children were injured in the accident. Five of these students were admitted to Zen Hospital with serious injuries. Four others suffered minor injuries. However, Vihaan Srivastava suffered serious injuries and died during treatment.

It is reported that several children were inside the bus at the time of the accident. With the help of the bus driver, conductor, and local residents, all the children were quickly evacuated. All the children were freed, but one student was struck by a tree. 


Chembur locals had written several letters to local authorities demanding the pruning or removal of the trees, as a similar incident had occurred there before. However, despite the numerous letters, the BMC took no action.
