BSF Weapons Seizure: The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized a large cache of weapons in a major operation along the India-Pakistan international border. An Indian citizen was also arrested during the operation, accused of being involved in a conspiracy to transport the seized weapons.

The consignment was delivered via drone

According to preliminary information, this consignment of weapons was sent from Pakistan via drone into the Indian border. Security agencies suspect that cross-border smuggling networks and intelligence agencies may be behind this.

What was recovered?

The BSF operation resulted in the seizure of an AK-47 rifle, 25 foreign-made pistols, 368 live cartridges, and 47 magazines. Security officials consider this seizure to be one of the most significant recent successes.

Operation underway in Lopoke-Ramdas sector

The operation took place between the Lopoke and Ramdas sectors in Punjab. Acting on intelligence, the 117th Battalion of the BSF conducted a search operation in the area, during which a cache of weapons was recovered and a suspect was detained.

Supplies were to be delivered to many states

Investigating agencies suspect that these weapons were intended to reach criminal networks not only in Punjab, but also in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. They are interrogating the arrested accused to determine who else is involved in this network.

Agencies engaged in investigation

Security agencies are now conducting a thorough investigation into the entire matter. Investigations are underway on several fronts to identify the supply chain of the recovered weapons, cross-border connections, and local networks. The BSF states that cross-border smuggling and drone activity are being continuously monitored, and security has been strengthened to thwart such attempts.
