Baliguma shooting: A bullet grazed the neck, narrowly escaping; a country-made pistol recovered

Devdas Gaur, a resident of Rajnagar, was injured in a shootout near Baliguma, under the Ulidih police station area of Jamshedpur. He was immediately admitted to MGM Hospital, where his condition is reported to be out of danger after first aid. The bullet grazed his neck.

Following the incident, police detained Devashish Poddar, Neeraj Pradhan, and ASI Pankaj Kumar posted at the RIT police station and began questioning them. However, the police are suspicious of the case due to inconsistent statements from the three.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that all three were in an inebriated state and the shooting occurred after an argument during a drinking session. According to the police, Devashish is suspected to have fired the shot during a dispute in Kharia Basti.

Several evidence, including blood stains and four glasses, have been recovered from the scene. A country-made pistol was also recovered at Devashish's location. Police also recovered some land documents from the Kapali area.

Currently, the police are investigating all aspects of the case and trying to determine the real motive behind the shooting.
