ED takes big action against another AAP leader, Deepak Singla arrested after 7-hour raid, know the full case

Deepak Singla: The Enforcement Directorate conducted simultaneous raids at several places including Delhi and Goa on Monday morning in connection with an alleged bank fraud case of over ₹100 crore against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Deepak Singla.

After taking action against a Punjab cabinet minister, now the ED has taken action against another AAP leader. The Enforcement Directorate conducted simultaneous raids at several places including Delhi and Goa on Monday morning in connection with an alleged bank fraud of over ₹100 crore against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Deepak Singla. Later, after a 7-hour raid, the investigating agency has arrested Deepak Singla.


The ED is conducting raids at Deepak Singla's house in Swasth Vihar, East Delhi. Paramilitary forces have been deployed at the spot and security has been tightened outside the house. Inside, a team of officials is examining documents and electronic records.


What is the whole matter? (Banking Fraud)

According to sources, the case was registered in the ED's Chandigarh zone. The agency spent several months investigating banking transactions, companies and financial documents, which led to the raids. The agency is now uncovering alleged financial irregularities and money laundering.


Let us tell you that Singla has contested elections from Delhi's Vishwas Nagar constituency on behalf of the Aam Aadmi Party. The ED had also raided his house in 2004.


Raids also conducted in another 180 crore fraud case

The central investigation agency has also conducted raids in a separate case in which individuals were cheated of about Rs 180 crore in the name of investment. Raids are also underway against Ram Singh of Babaji Finance Group in Delhi's Subhash Nagar.
