Sensation in Mathura: Radha Ballabh temple priest brutally murdered, throat slit with knife, heavy tension in the area

Mathura News: A sensational incident has occurred in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. A temple priest was attacked by an unknown person. He died during treatment. Read the full story.


Mathura Priest Murder News/Kanhaiya Lal Sharma: The priest of the Radha Ballabh Temple in Sahar village, located in the Barsana area of Mathura, was fatally attacked by unknown assailants on Sunday morning. He died during treatment late at night. Police have detained two people from the village. 

When and where did the incident happen?

This incident occurred on Sunday. Mohan Das alias Gunga Baba, the priest of the Radha Ballabh Temple in Barsana, was walking towards his room in the temple premises after performing the Shringar Aarti at 9 a.m. when unknown assailants stabbed him in the neck and stomach. 

The priest was found covered in blood.

People became aware of the incident when some people arrived at the temple for worship at 10:30 a.m. Upon seeing the priest lying in a pool of blood, villagers rushed him to KD Hospital. He died later that night during treatment.

Two people in police custody
Police have detained two people from the village for questioning. They have examined CCTV footage and found no one coming or going. Vaishnav Das, the guru of priest Mohan Das alias Gunga Baba, has filed a case against unknown assailants. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suresh Chand Rawat has deployed three teams to uncover the murder.

SP Rural Suresh Chandra Rawat said that the incident occurred at the Radha Ballabh Temple in the Shahar village of the Barsana police station. The priest was a resident of Madhya Pradesh and had been living there for about seven or eight years. He was attacked in the neck. He was hospitalized. The police are investigating the matter thoroughly. The case has been registered under serious sections. Strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
