Prince, who shot law student Sandeep Kaur, is on ventilator, with a bullet lodged in his head; what do doctors say?

An incident that took place last Monday in Tarn Taran, Punjab, shocked everyone. Prince Raj, a law college student, shot and killed his classmate, Sandeep Kaur, before shooting himself. Sandeep Kaur died on the spot, while Prince is undergoing treatment at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, where he is on a ventilator. A bullet is lodged in Prince's head. Doctors stated that Prince's condition is very critical, and the operation is also critical. Police have filed a murder case against Prince.


Sandeep Kaur, a law student, was a resident of Naushera Pannuan village in the Patti constituency. Prince, a student, was from Malia village. They were classmates at Mai Bhago Law College in Usma village, studying law together. Sandeep Kaur had been engaged a year earlier. Sandeep Kaur's family was facing financial difficulties. Her elder sister worked outside to support the family, while her younger sister was helping Sandeep study law so that he could also become self-reliant.

Sandeep was the second of seven sisters. They also had a younger brother. The eldest sister was responsible for everyone's education. Last Monday morning, around 9:30 a.m., while Sandeep Kaur was in her class, Prince shot her in the head, after which he shot himself in the head. Hearing the gunshot, the classroom was in a commotion. College staff immediately rushed both of them to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. Doctors declared Sandeep Kaur dead, while Prince's condition was critical and began treating him.


Accused Prince is on ventilator

Karamjit Singh, the hospital's medical superintendent, stated that Prince has been placed on a ventilator. His condition remains critical. The next 24 hours are crucial. The bullet is still lodged in his brain. A decision on further treatment will be made only after the CT scan results are received. The medical superintendent also stated that the chances of survival in such cases are very slim. He has also spoken to the doctors in the ICU, who have described the patient's condition as extremely critical.


Police filed a case against Prince

Meanwhile, the police have filed a case against the accused, Prince. Sandeep Kaur's family says the police are not acting on their statements. Neither has the pistol been verified, nor have any arrests been made. The family says Prince comes from a wealthy family, his father is in the military, and they will not perform Sandeep's last rites until they receive justice. Although Sandeep Kaur's post-mortem has been completed, the body has been taken to Nausheran Pannuan village, but the family has not yet performed the last rites.
