How did the accident happen?


According to reports, when train number 12616, the New Delhi -Chennai GT Express, departed Nagpur on Tuesday morning and reached the Sindi-Tuljapur section of Wardha district, black smoke and flames were seen rising from the last guard's coach at around 11:09 am. The flames were so intense that the coach was filled with smoke. As soon as a passenger in the coach noticed the smoke, an alarm was sounded and the train was brought to an emergency stop.

Hundreds of lives were saved due to the prompt action of the Railways.


The Central Railway administration was thrown into a panic upon receiving the news of the fire. Keeping safety standards in mind, the affected coach was first isolated from the rest of the train to prevent the fire from spreading to other coaches. The fire department was immediately informed, and passengers were evacuated to a safe distance. According to Central Railway officials, all passengers in the affected coach were evacuated in time, resulting in no casualties.  The exact cause of this massive fire is still unknown. Railway technical experts are investigating whether the fire was caused by a short circuit or some other technical fault.
