Let us tell you that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Siwan on Thursday (January 22, 2026) as part of the "Samriddhi Yatra". Meanwhile, a massive blast took place in Badram village under Hussainganj police station area, about 6-7 km away from the Chief Minister's place, in which one person died. Explosion caused by firecrackers, panic in the area

Initial investigation has revealed that the blast may have been caused by firecrackers. A youth named Mohammad Murtaza has died in this tragic incident. According to the locals, the work of making illegal firecrackers was allegedly going on in the village and due to this sudden explosion, nearby houses have also been damaged. The blast was so terrible that its sound was heard from a long distance, which created an atmosphere of panic in the entire area.


Police and forensic team continue investigation

As soon as the incident was reported, Hussainganj police cordoned off the area and started an investigation. The debris is being removed and the forensic team has also been informed so that the actual nature of the explosive material can be ascertained. According to police officials, the matter is being investigated from multiple angles, including the possibility of illegal manufacturing of explosives.


Chief Minister's program and security concerns

It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had reached Siwan on the sixth day of his 'Samridhi Yatra', where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 71 projects. He also inaugurated the new building of the Government Medical College at Mairwa. The accident during the Chief Minister's program has increased administrative and security concerns.
