New threat after the flood, Recon swine fever spreads, 210 deaths, this virus is incurable!
This disease only affects pigs, it poses no threat to humans, so people do not need to panic.
After the flood in the Ravi river in Amritsar, although the water is gradually receding, many diseases have started spreading due to the death of hundreds of animals. The administration and health department teams are continuously checking people and monitoring every area. Apart from this, there is also a threat from pigs in the area. Recon swine fever is spreading among pigs. In such a situation, there is a complete ban on bringing pigs or their meat to the flood-affected areas.
Veterinary doctor Dr. Ravinder Singh Kang said that this disease affects only pigs, it does not pose any threat to humans, so people do not need to panic. This virus has spread in Dhariwal Kaler village of Ajnala area of the district.
Dr. Kang said that this virus is incurable and once it spreads in the farm, it can spread rapidly throughout the area. This makes it necessary to kill and bury the affected pigs and sanitize the farm. Also, to prevent the spread of the disease, an immediate ban has been imposed on the purchase and sale of pigs in the affected area.
Due to the spread of the virus, about 210 pigs were killed in a local farm, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees to the farm owner. The farm owner also blamed the administration for this and said that if the report had been given on time, they would not have suffered any loss.
