Delhi-NCR Storm: The weather suddenly changed in Delhi-NCR on Wednesday night. Hail fell along with strong winds and rain. Due to the storm, traffic was halted at some places. Power went out at many places.


Monsoon Update: The mood of the weather has changed once again in most of the states of the country including UP-Bihar to Delhi-NCR. It is raining somewhere and heat wave is continuing somewhere. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that the pre-monsoon pattern is getting stronger in the southern states. Due to this, the weather is changing all over India. IMD has issued a warning of thunderstorms in many states on 22 May 2025. Let's know where and how will the weather be?


Delhi-NCR 


There was a dust storm in Delhi and NCR on Wednesday night. The wind speed in Palam was 72 km/h. After this, rain started with thunder and lightning. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert and asked people to be alert between 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. People got relief from heat due to rain. IMD has issued a forecast of thunderstorms in the capital Delhi till 25 May 2025. According to the IMD forecast, Delhi and NCR will remain partly cloudy on May 22. There is a possibility of light rain and dust storms. The maximum temperature can be between 38-40 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature can be between 26-28 degree Celsius.


How will the weather be in UP


The Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms in many districts of UP till May 25. There is a possibility of a drop in temperature due to rain and strong winds. According to the IMD, light to moderate rain may occur in the western and eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh on May 22. Dust storms can also be seen in some areas. On Thursday, the maximum temperature will be 38-40 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 26-28 degrees Celsius. On May 21, 2025, rain and thundershowers may occur at some places in the western and eastern parts of the state. An increase in rain can be seen in UP from May 23.


There may be rain in some districts of Bihar 


. IMD has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in some districts of Bihar till 24 May 2025. Strong winds will also blow during this period. The maximum temperature will be between 34-36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 24-26 degrees Celsius. In the last few days, the weather has become pleasant due to storm and rain in most of the districts of the state. People have got relief from the scorching heat. Patna Meteorological Center has issued a weather alert on Wednesday, predicting heavy rain in many districts. Orange alert has been issued for 17 districts, while yellow alert has been issued for 21 others.


Heavy rain alert in Maharashtra and Gujarat


IMD has issued a heavy rain alert in Maharashtra and Gujarat. According to IMD, moderate to heavy rains with thunderstorms are likely in Mumbai and its surrounding areas on 22 May 2025. Rains with strong winds are likely in South Gujarat and Saurashtra region. During this time, the maximum temperature in Maharashtra will be 32-34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 25-27 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Gujarat will be 34-36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 24-26 degrees Celsius. The weather will be like this in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh The IMD has predicted that heat wave conditions will persist in western Rajasthan on May 22. There is a possibility of dust storm. The maximum temperature may reach 42-45 degree Celsius. Light rain is likely at some places in eastern Rajasthan on Thursday. Talking about the weather of Madhya Pradesh, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds is likely in some districts on Thursday. Heavy rain may also occur at some places. The maximum temperature will be 36-38 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 25-27 degree Celsius.


How will be the weather in other states


There is a possibility of thunderstorms at some places in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on Thursday. Hailstorms are also likely at many places. The maximum temperature in these states is likely to be 28-30 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be 15-18 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, and coastal Andhra Pradesh till May 26. The south-west monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala in the next three-four days. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunderstorms in West Bengal, Sikkim, and North-East India for the next four-five days.
