India will conduct air exercise on Pakistan border, Rafale, Sukhoi and Mirage will roar in the sky, NOTAM issued
NOTAM is usually issued when the air force is conducting exercises in a particular airspace, the weather is bad or there is an obstacle. This time NOTAM reflects a fairly large scale exercise, which also indicates the seriousness of the current diplomatic tension with Pakistan.
The Indian government has issued a 'Notice to Airmen' (NOTAM) for a large-scale air military exercise on May 7 and 8 near the southern border with Pakistan. This information was given by geo-intelligence expert Damien Simon on Tuesday. Although the detailed information of this exercise has not been made public yet, but NOTAM clearly indicates that the airspace of the concerned area will be restricted during this period. This shows the preparation of a huge military drill by the Indian Air Force.
According to the information, all frontline aircraft including Rafale, Mirage 2000 and Sukhoi-30 will participate during the exercise in the desert region and adjoining areas on the India-Pakistan border. Major fleets will practice ground attack and air-to-air combat. Air defense exercises will also be conducted by fighter aircraft as MiG-29 has a role in the Air Force. This exercise of the Air Force will be monitored by top officials and its standard procedures will be improved.
NOTAM is issued under
these circumstances
Let us tell you that NOTAM is usually issued when the Air Force is practicing in a particular airspace, the weather is bad or there is an obstacle there. This time NOTAM reflects a fairly large scale exercise, which also indicates the seriousness of the current diplomatic tension with Pakistan.
This step has been taken at a time when tension between India and Pakistan is at its peak. Recently, 26 people lost their lives in a horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, due to which there is an atmosphere of anger and worry in the whole country.
Operation 'Aakram'
happened last month
Earlier on April 25, the Indian Air Force and Navy demonstrated their offensive capabilities under a joint military exercise 'Akram'. The most modern fighter aircraft like Rafale and Sukhoi-30MKI took part in this exercise. High intensity ground attacks were practiced in different geographical areas of the country, especially in mountainous areas. The entire exercise took place under the supervision of the senior leadership of the Air Force.
The pilots also demonstrated long-range flying missions and precision shooting, which is usually seen in 'Deep Strike Mission'. This exercise gives a clear indication of India's military preparedness.
First civil defence drill after 1971 war
The government is now also planning a civil defence exercise across the country, which will be the first since the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This exercise will be conducted at 259 locations in 33 states and union territories. Its purpose is to prepare the common citizens to deal with possible war or emergency situations.
In this exercise, the general public will be provided technical information and practice to stay safe from bomb blasts, gas attacks, cyber attacks and other accidental situations.
