Pune Bus Rape case: The police officer has shared details about the accused youth in the case of brutality with a woman inside a bus in Pune, Maharashtra. He told that the youth involved in this incident is a history sheeter, who had come out on bail.


Pune Bus Rape Case: The accused of raping a 26-year-old woman inside a bus in Pune district of Maharashtra is a history-sheeter. The whole incident happened on Tuesday morning, where a young man first introduced himself to the victim by calling her 'didi' and then raped her. The accused has been identified as Dattatreya Ramdas Gade, but the surprising thing is that he is a history-sheeter who was out on bail since 2019.

Eight police teams in search 

According to a police station official, half a dozen cases of theft, robbery and chain snatching are registered against him in Pune and nearby Ahilyanagar district. Gade was out on bail in a crime since 2019. In 2024, a theft case was registered against Gade in Pune, after which he was called to the police station. At present, eight police teams are now searching for him on charges of brutality with a girl in a bus.

According to the police, this incident happened between 5:30 and 6 am on Tuesday. The victim works in Pune and on the day of the incident, she had reached Swargate bus stand to go to her village Phaltan. The girl was standing at the bus stand going to Phaltan, when the accused addressed the girl as Didi and asked where she wanted to go. When the girl told him her destination, the accused misled her and said that the bus to Phaltan was standing at another place. He took her to that deserted corner of the bus stand where the Shiv Shahi AC bus was standing.

After this, the victim boarded the bus and the accused also boarded the bus from behind and raped her. Later he got off the bus and ran away. When the girl told a friend about the brutality that happened to her, she advised her to file a police report. Then the girl went to the police station and filed a report about the incident that happened to her. Currently, National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar has written a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP) regarding this incident. She has asked the DGP to send an action report within three days along with a copy of the FIR.
