The Akharas have postponed the Amrit Ishnaan. According to media reports, PM Modi has taken information about the accident from CM Yogi.

According to the video that emerged from the scene, some women and children have also been injured. The situation is currently being said to be under control. The Mahakumbh Nagar administration has appealed to the devotees not to pay attention to rumors and to exercise restraint.

It is said that a stampede broke out at around 2 am before the Amrit bath on the Sangam banks of Prayagraj. It is being told that some people have died in this. According to an eyewitness, people started running as soon as the stampede happened. No official information has been released by the administration yet.

The injured have been brought to the central hospital with the help of more than 50 ambulances. People also took many injured on motorcycles. The Army and NSG have taken charge to control the situation.

Bathing in Akharas stopped due to crowd

Due to crowd on Mauni Amavasya, Shiv Akharas have stopped Amrit Bathing. Sadhus and Naga Sadhus of Mahanirvani and Niranjani Akharas did not come out to take bath. Thousands of Naga monks are present in the cantonment itself. Akhara Parishad President Mahant Ravinder Puri says that bathing has been stopped due to huge crowd. Akharas will come out to take bath only when the situation improves. Otherwise, the bath will be canceled.
