8 dead, 19 hurt in bus-truck collision on Agra-Lucknow Expressway

PTC Web Desk: A tragic accident
on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near the Auraiya border in Kannauj district
claimed the lives of eight persons and left 19 others injured. The collision
occurred in the Sakarava police station area during the early hours of Friday,
involving a sleeper bus and a truck.
The sleeper bus, carrying around 40
passengers, was en route from Lucknow to Delhi when it rammed into the truck.
Police and emergency response teams swiftly arrived at the scene, taking the
injured to Saifai Medical College for urgent medical care.

The District Magistrate and
Superintendent of Police visited the accident site to oversee rescue
operations. Uttar Pradesh Water Resources Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, who
happened to be travelling nearby, stopped to assist in the efforts. He ensured
that the injured received prompt medical attention and provided support to the
rescue teams.
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar
stated, "A collision between a bus and a water tanker occurred on the
Agra-Lucknow Expressway. Emergency services and police responded immediately to
manage the situation."
The police have
launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, while relief
efforts are underway for the victims and their families.
