Explosion in hair dryer ordered online, lost both hands

The injured woman has been identified as 37-year-old Baswarajeswari Yarnal. She is the wife of ex-serviceman Papanna Yarnal, who died in an accident in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017. According to the investigating officials, the explosion in the hair dryer was caused by an electrical short circuit. An appliance like a hair dryer normally requires a 2-watt electrical connection but the switch it was plugged into had too much power, causing it to explode.

According to the police, the cause of this incident was a courier parcel, which was sent in the name of a woman named Sasikala. When Sasikala was out of town, she requested Basavarejeshwari to take the parcel. When Basavarajeshwari opened the courier parcel, it contained a hair dryer. As soon as the woman plugged it into the electrical socket, there was a huge explosion. His fingers and palms were badly burned.
After the police investigation and alleged
incident, the woman's neighbors and her family members immediately admitted her to the hospital. However, Sasikala claimed that she had not ordered any product online. Police said that Sasikala is saying this because of fear. Bagalkot SP Amarnath Reddy said that an investigation has been started and efforts are being made to find out who ordered the hair dryer and from where it was sent. The police also said that the hair dryer manufacturing company, which is based in Visakhapatnam, has been identified. Now this company will also be questioned. A team of police officials will visit the accident site and investigate the entire incident. This incident also shows how dangerous poor quality electrical equipment can be, especially products sent by courier.
