Punjab News: Sukhpal Khaira's lawyer Kanwarjit Singh said that the police had asked for another five-day remand, but the court sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

Punjab News: Police produced Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira in the Kapurthala court on Friday after completing his one-day remand. Earlier, the police took Khaira for medical treatment. While talking to the media at Civil Hospital Kapurthala, Khaira said that after coming out of jail, I will speak calmly, because Bhagwant Maan fights with the police officers and he (Bhagwant) has lost his balance.

After the medical, the police produced Khaira in the court. Sukhpal Khaira's lawyer Kanwarjit Singh said that the police had asked for another five-day remand, but the court sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

Earlier on Thursday, he got bail from the High Court after 90 days in the drug trafficking case. Soon after coming out of jail, Khaira was arrested in another case. The Kapurthala police produced her in the evening in the court of Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division) Supreet Kaur at the New Judicial Complex, where after hearing arguments from both sides, the court sent Khaira to one-day police remand.

Let it be mentioned that a case was registered against Khaira under Section 195-A (intimidation for false testimony) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) on the complaint of Ranjit Kaur, a resident of Dogranwal village, in the Subhanpur police station of Kapurthala on Thursday morning. The complainant alleged that MLA Sukhpal Khaira is threatening him (complainant) to give false testimony.
