Union Home Minister Amit Shah had told in the Rajya Sabha on Monday that such a jail is being built in Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of Rs 105 crore, where only terrorists will be kept. Now the news is that this jail is being prepared in Mahanpur of Kathua district.

Workers are busy in the construction of this high security jail in Dambra area of ​​Mahanpur, Kathua. Only 600 prisoners will be kept in this jail.

Let us tell you that at present there are 14 such jails in Jammu, out of which two are central and 10 are district jails. There is also a special jail among them. These jails have the capacity to accommodate 3629 prisoners. But the administration is working towards keeping 5300 more prisoners here.

 During the discussion in Rajya Sabha, Amit Shah had presented more figures. He had told that more than 42 thousand people have lost their lives due to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He had claimed that the government has tried to destroy the ecosystem of terror funding in the valley.

Earlier, during the discussion on these bills in the Lok Sabha, Shah had said that between 1994 and 2004, 40,164 terrorist incidents had taken place in Jammu and Kashmir. There were 7,217 incidents between 2004 and 2014. Whereas, during the tenure of Modi government from 2014 to 2023, about two thousand incidents have taken place.

Amit Shah had said that that is why we say that the reason for separatism and terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir was nothing else but Article 370.
