According to the Meteorological Department, the same spell of rain is likely to continue on Tuesday, so schools and colleges may remain closed for the second consecutive day. This will be announced in view of the situation.

Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in Tamil Nadu

According to the Meteorological Department, cyclonic circulation is causing heavy rains in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu. In Tiruchendur of Tuticorin district, about two feet of water has rained in 15 hours. At the same time, due to rain, rivers and lakes in Kovilpatti are overflowing. At the same time, 40 lakes in Kovilpatti Panchayat have been filled. Thoothukudi district district development officer Rajesh  says 40 lakes in Kovilpatti panchayat have been filled, while two lakes were damaged and have been repaired. Rajesh says that in view of the rain, other lakes are also being continuously monitored. If there is any crack in the lake due to rain, preparations have been made to repair it.

On the other hand, according to the Indian Meteorological Department, due to the effect of cyclonic circulation, there will be heavy rain in the southern states on Tuesday also. According to IMD, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi of Kerala and Ramanathapuram district of neighboring Tamil Nadu on Tuesday also. Considering the situation, closure of schools and other offices will be announced.

Water from many rivers is flowing out of the lake

Apart from this, it has also been said that there may be thunderstorm along with thunderstorm at one or two places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on Tuesday. Here, due to heavy rains in Kovipatti district, the water level of rivers and ponds has reached above its capacity. Water is flowing above many ponds. Apart from this, rain water is flowing out of the river in Kousalipatti and Inam Maniyachi areas. At the same time, to stop such flow, sandbags have been installed using JCB.
