Kedarnath Dham (Shri-Kedardham Yatra 2023): Amidst the cold wave and snow, the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham are closed for winter as per the rules and regulations at 8.30 am on the auspicious occasion of Bhaiya Dooj, Wednesday, Kartik month, Shukla Paksha Dwitiya, Scorpio zodiac, Jyestha nakshatra. Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay had reached Shri Kedarnath on Tuesday for preparations for the closure of the doors. Today, on this occasion, along with him, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma's wife, media veteran Riniki Bhuyan Sharma and family members were also present on the occasion of closing of the doors.

All these guests had reached Kedarnath Dham on Tuesday itself. On the occasion of closing of doors, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay said that under the inspiration of the country's famous Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Shri Kedarnath Yatra is being successfully concluded.

In this year, more than nineteen and a half lakh pilgrims have visited Lord Kedarnath. Had darshan of. He also congratulated all the institutions associated with the yatra. BKTC Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh said that from the date of opening of doors in Kedarnath Dham till Tuesday 14th November night, 1957850 (nineteen lakh fifty seven thousand eight hundred fifty) pilgrims visited Kedarnath Dham. 

Today the doors of Shri Kedarnath temple opened in Brahmamuhurta. Regular worship and darshan took place in the temple, after which, as part of the process of closing the doors, the make-up was removed from the self-styled Shivalinga and in the presence of Kedarnath Rawal Bhimashankar Linga, the priest gave the Shivalinga a samadhi form with local dry flowers, Brahma Kamal, Kumja and ashes. During this, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay was present the entire time. Also, officials of District Administration, Police Administration, Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh, officials of Teerth Purohit Society were present. Samadhi puja was concluded in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple at exactly 6:30 pm.

After that, the small temples located in the assembly hall inside the temple were also closed. After this, at exactly 8:30 pm, the south gate of Kedarnath temple was closed and immediately after that, the east gate. was also closed. On this occasion, Indian Army, ITBP and donors had organized bhandaras for the pilgrims. 

BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said in the press release that after the closure of the doors, the Panchmukhi Doli of Shri Kedarnath Lord will reach the first stop Rampur today. Panchmukhi Doli will reach Guptkashi on 16th November. 

On Friday, November 17, the Panchmukhi idol of Lord Kedarnath will reach the winter worship place Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath. After this, winter worship of Lord Kedarnath will start at the winter worship place Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. On this occasion, temple committee member Srinivas Posti, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Yogendra Singh, Tehsildar Diwan Singh Rana, Executive Officer RC Tiwari, Kedar Sabha President Rajkumar Tiwari, Police Station Incharge Manjul Rawat Pradeep Semwal, Arvind Shukla, Devanand Gairola Umaid Negi, Kuldeep Dharmwan, Lalit Trivedi and public representatives. Pilgrim priests and thousands of pilgrims were present. It is noteworthy that the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham are closing on 18th November. 

The doors of Shri Gangotri Dham were closed on Tuesday morning on 14th November on the occasion of Annakoot Govardhan Puja. Shri Yamunotri Dham is being closed this afternoon for winter.
