Chandigarh News: Youth sentenced to 20 years for raping minor boy

Chandigarh Crime News in Hindi: A surprising news is coming out from Chandigarh where the fast track court has sentenced the accused who raped a nine year old boy to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. But a fine of Rs 25,000 has also been imposed.

According to the information received, the accused is Amit Kumar, a resident of Maloya. According to the information received by the police from the mother of the victim child, her child had complained of pain in his body and when she pressurized him about it, the 9-year-old child told his mother that a man had raped her. and asked him to keep quiet.

Chandigarh Special Fastrack Court Judge Swati Sehgal sentenced the accused to 20 years' imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25,000 for unnatural sex. The victim's mother also told that Maloya police had filed an IPC against Amit in February 2022. A case was registered under sections 342, 363, 377, 506 and POCSO Act. 

Upon receiving the complaint, the police arrested the accused and the court framed charges against the accused, to which he pleaded innocent. The accused's lawyer said that he has been falsely implicated in the case while the government lawyer argued that the prosecution has proved the case against the accused beyond the shadow of doubt. 

After hearing the arguments, the court convicted the accused under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 25,000.
