Maan's father Sarabjit Singh has been arrested for more than 34 years after
getting a government job in the education department of Punjab by making a fake

Taking strict cognizance
of the matter, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) on the
orders of its chairman Vijay Sampla has issued a notice to the Punjab
government asking it to submit an action taken report in 15 days.
It is being told that NCSC
has received information through news about Sarabjit Singh, who got a false SC

Sarabjit Singh is the father of famous Punjabi singer Amrit Maan.
According to the report, “Sarabjit Singh, a resident
of village Khara, tehsil Kotkapura area of Faridkot district, had submitted a
fake SC certificate in 1989 to get a SC reserved job of a mathematics teacher,
which was approved by the state government. Was given During that time
there were 252 teaching posts in the schools of Punjab out of which 25% seats
were reserved for SC candidates.
According to the news
video, Avtar Singh Sahota, a retired Punjab government official, has submitted
a complaint to the Chief Minister of Punjab alleging that Sarabjit Singh has
held a job for over 34 years using a false SC certificate.
The Commission has directed the
Principal Secretary (School Education Department) and Principal Secretary
(Social, Justice & Empowerment and Minorities Department) to the Government
of Punjab to investigate the matter and submit an Action Taken Report by June
21 based on the facts of the allegation/action taken on the matter. Or asked to
submit via email."
Sampla warned the officials that if
the action taken report is not received within the stipulated time, the
Commission may exercise the powers of civil court given to it under Article 338
of the Constitution of India and personal appearance before the Commission in Delhi
