There is news of relief for 16 thousand employees of Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. Roadways employees will now get increased dearness allowance. This decision has been taken in the meeting of the "Empowered Committee" on Wednesday. Now 28% dearness allowance will be given as payment to Transport Corporation employees. Let us tell you, DA has been increased by 11 percent.

Dearness allowance has become 28 percent

Let us inform that with this decision of the committee, now 28 percent dearness allowance will be given to the employees. Along with the salary received from January 2023 onwards, this allowance will be transferred to the accounts of the officers and employees of the roadways. According to the information, this decision will increase the salary of about 16000 regular employees.

Till now 17 percent DA was being received

Regarding this decision, Girish Chandra Mishra, General Secretary of Roadways Employees Joint Council, while talking to India Today, said that till now 17 per cent dearness allowance was being received. In such a situation, there was a demand to increase it for a long time. However, there was a demand from the council to give 38 percent dearness allowance to the state employees. In which now the committee has approved the proposal of 11 percent dearness allowance, which is a commendable decision.

Salary will increase from 2500 to 8000

Significantly, due to this, the salary of Uttar Pradesh Roadways employees will increase from ₹ 2500 to ₹ 8000. Welcoming the move, UP Roadways Employees Union President Rakesh Singh said that after the meeting with the delegation, State Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh was approached with several demands including dearness allowance. The union has expressed happiness over the fulfillment of the demand for dearness allowance of the transport workers.

On the other hand, the officers and employees have expressed happiness over this decision. Roadways officers and employees are very happy with the increase in salary after many years of demand. Expressing happiness, employee Ramesh Shukla said, “Now they will work with more sincerity and dedication, so that roadways can be taken to the top. The officials have also welcomed the move.”
