Amritpal Singh’s Exclusive Live: Amid reports
Waris Punjab de head Amritpal Singh who is 'absconding' since March 18, may
surrender before Punjab Police after being spotted in Punjab.
The Waris Punjab De chief put out a live video on Wednesday
saying that government action against him “was not about his arrest but an
attack on the Sikh community”.
Further on, he said that if the government wanted to arrest
him, they could have arrested him from home.
Asserting that nobody can harm him, Amritpal said he is not
afraid of being arrested.
In the live video Amritpal thanked Sikh community for
supporting and appealed to join ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ on the occasion of Baisakhi
2023. He urged Akal Takht Jathedar to call Sarbat Khalsa on Baisakhi.
He further said, "The government of Punjab made a hue and
cry of the situation and a tensed environment all over the state. The Punjab
police along with government suspended the mobile internet and SMS services and
also imposed NSA on his aides. Many of my comrades have been sent to Assam.
That's why I appeal to all Sikhs to assemble on the occasion of Baisakhi."
Radical preacher slammed Punjab Police and government for
arresting Sikh youths during crackdown.
H further added, "I am fine and in high spirits (Chardi
Kala), no one could even touch my hair." He said due to the
blessings of the Waheguru, he was able to escape from the clutches of the
police.
'Sarbat Khalsa' is a meeting which is attended by various Sikh organisations to discuss the issues related to the community. After the discussion, the jathedar of the Akal Takht directs the community to follow the solutions discussed in the meeting.
