Absconding chief of banned Pakistani organization ISYF arrested in Ludhiana Court Blast Case, reward of Rs 10 lakh

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested 2021 Ludhiana Court Complex blast accused Harpreet Singh, who is also an associate of Lakhbir Singh Rode, on 1 December.

The NIA said that a reward of Rs 10 lakh was declared on Harpreet Singh, against whom a non-bailable warrant was also issued, as well as a lookout circular was opened.


2021 Ludhiana Court Complex blast accused arrested

 

Fugitive terrorist Harpreet Singh was arrested on his arrival from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A key associate of Pakistan-based terrorist Lakhbir Singh Rode, along with Harpreet Rode was one of the conspirators of the Ludhiana Court Building blast on December 23, 2021. One died and many were injured in this blast.

 

According to the NIA, acting on Rode's instructions, Harpreet coordinated the delivery of custom-made IEDs, sent from Pakistan to his India-based associates, which were used in the Ludhiana Court Complex blast.

 

The NIA had declared a reward of Rs 10 lakh on Harpreet Singh, against whom a non-bailable warrant was issued from a special NIA court and a look-out circular was opened. The case registered against him on January 13, 2022 was registered under sections 302, 307, 124A and 120B of IPC, sections 13, 15, 16 and 18 of UAPA.

A blast rocked a court in Ludhiana at around 12:25 pm on Thursday, killing one and injuring 6. Police said the prime suspect - Gagandeep Singh - a former policeman, died.

According to sources, the blast took place in the women's washroom on the third floor inside the court complex. Visuals from the site showed damaged walls and parts of the ceiling in the third floor washroom of court room number 14.
