MS Dhoni: Madras High Court's big decision on MS Dhoni's petition, notice sent to IPS officer to appear
Former Team India captain MS Dhoni had filed in the Madras High Court against the IPS officer. Dhoni had said in the petition that Sampath Kumar is trying to malign his image and it is also contempt of court order. The Indian captain has demanded Rs 100 crore as damages.

This petition is related to contempt of court order. Now the division bench of the
High Court has given G. Sampath Kumar has been directed to appear in the court
on December 9. A division bench of Justice PN Prakash and Justice RMT Tika
Raman also issued a statutory notice in the matter on Friday (November 11).
The court had put a stay on the statement
This whole matter is related to IPL 2013 in which
spot-fixing and betting cases came to light. Sampath Kumar was leading the
spot-fixing case and he also commented on MS Dhoni. Dhoni had filed a civil
suit in 2014 to permanently restrain Sampath Kumar from making any
reprehensible and objectionable statements related to spot-fixing. In 2014, the
Madras High Court had barred Sampath Kumar from making any statement against
Dhoni.
But despite this, Sampath Kumar had filed an affidavit in
the court making derogatory remarks against the judicial system and a prominent
lawyer representing the state in cases against him. When it was brought to the
notice of the Madras High Court, it took it on its file in December 2021.
Dhoni filed a petition in October this year
On July 18 this year, Advocate General R. After obtaining
consent from Shanmukhasundaram, MS Dhoni filed a contempt of court order
against Sampath Kumar on 11 October. MS Dhoni had said that Sampath Kumar is
trying to malign his image for spot-fixing. The former Indian captain demanded
Rs 100 crore from the court as damages .
Dhoni had a great international career
MS Dhoni took retirement from international cricket on 15
August 2020. Dhoni played his last international match against New Zealand in
the 2019 World Cup. MS Dhoni, 41, scored 17266 runs in 350 ODIs, 98 T20
Internationals and 90 Test matches. During this he scored 108 half-centuries
and 16 centuries.
Under Dhoni's captaincy, India was successful in winning the
2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. He is the
only captain in the world who has successfully led his team to win all three
major ICC tournaments. MS Dhoni was last seen in action for Chennai Super Kings
in IPL 2022. Dhoni is going to captain CSK in IPL 2023 as well.
