PM Modi's security breach in Punjab: SSP Ferozepur failed to discharge duties, finds SC committee

 


New Delhi, August 24: Nearly 8 months later PM security breach happened in Punjab in January 2022, SC has found Punjab Police officer responsible for the security lapse. Supreme Court reads report filed by five-member Committee headed by a retired top court judge, Justice Indu Malhotra, as per which Ferozepur SSP failed to discharge his duty to maintain law and order.

The SC appointed committee finds that Punjab police officer failed to discharge duties in ensuring security of Prime Minister during his visit to Punjab in January 2022.


“He (Ferozepur SSP) failed to do this even though sufficient force was available and even though he was informed 2 hours before that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will enter that route. We will forward the report to the Committee, so that they can take action” said CJI NV Ramana.
