The profile of Punjab CM's wife-to-be Dr Gurpreet Kaur


Mohali, July 6: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be tying the knot with Dr Gurpreet Kaur (32) in a small gathering of friends and relatives on Thursday. Sources said Bhagwant Mann's wife-to-be Dr Gurpreet Kaur (32) is 16 years younger to him. The Punjab Chief Minister is 48.

Dr Gurpreet Kaur's family is settled in Rajpura, though she hails from Haryana.  She has done MBBS and has been known to Bhagwant Mann's family for over one year now. From the swearing-in ceremony of CM Bhagwant Mann to several other political occasions, she had always been present, but avoided the media. The sources said Bhagwant Mann's mother and sister had been pressurising him to get married.

This will be Bhagwant Mann second marriage. He divorced his first wife Inderjit Kaur six years ago. She along with their two children is settled in the US. When Bhagwant Mann became the CM of Punjab, her children had come from the US to attend the swearing-in ceremony.


The entire responsibility of CM Mann's marriage is on AAP leader Raghav Chadha. Only family members will be attending the ceremony, which will be solemnised in a simple manner. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal along with his family will also be attending the event.
