"We chose the
Yamadharmaraja theme because this stretch of road is the best example of real
'naraka darshan' (hell) for the commuters using this road," said Abdul
Aleem from Changemakers of Kanakapura Road.
'ROADS IN HORRIBLE
CONDITION FOR 10 YEARS'
"This stretch of road is in horrible condition
since over 10 years. Not only this, but all Anjanapura roads are the same or in
worse conditions. Last time, our unique protest yielded results but only 2 km
of the road was asphalted even though Rs 25 crore was released for 13 km of the
road," said Aleem.
"Even after so much naming and shaming both the
MLA and BDA authorities, they haven't woken up. Residents continue to
suffer," he added.
Pointing out the issues the residents have faced,
Aleem said an ambulance couldn't go to an apartment and the patient had to be
taken in a car. "The resident recently died in the hospital."
Urging the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) and
the local MLA to asphalt the roads soon to solve commuting issues, Aleem warned
of aggressive protests in the days to come if the issue is not solved at the
earliest.
