Three CRPF Personnel Killed In Naxal Ambush In Odisha’s Nuapada

The deceased personnel have been identified as ASI Shishu Pal Singh, ASI Shiv Lal and Constable Dharmendra Kumar Singh.


New Delhi: At least three CRPF personnel were on Tuesday killed in an ambush with Naxalites at a security post in Odisha’s Nuapada district.

The deceased include a jawan and two assistant sub-inspector rank personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The personnel have been identified as ASI Shishu Pal Singh, ASI Shiv Lal and Constable Dharmendra Kumar Singh.

The Naxals attacked the troops, who were involved in a road opening task, using improvised and crude barrel grenade launchers, news agency PTI cited preliminary reports.

The state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh each to the families of the deceased. “DGP expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families stating that operations would continue in the area to track down the Maoists,” said Odisha Police.
