1. Sonu Sheikh, who opened fire, in police
custody
Police has arrested Sonu Sheikh, who opened fire during the violence on the
occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. After the violence in Jahangirpuri, on April 17, a
video of the attack on social media was going viral in which a man wearing a
blue kurta was firing. He has been identified as Sonu Sheikh and has been
arrested by the police. 28-year-old Sonu Sheikh is a resident of C Block of
Jahangirpuri. Delhi Police has already taken Sonu's brother into custody.
2. Case registered against VHP and Bajrang Dal
Delhi Police has registered a case against Vishwa Hindu Parishad and
Bajrang Dal in the Jahangirpuri violence case. It is alleged that the
organizers of the procession did not take permission from the police for the
procession. Along with this, Prem Sharma, the district service chief of Vishwa
Hindu Parishad has been arrested.
1. Stone pelting in the area again in 48 hours
On Monday, stone pelting took place again within 48 hours in Jahangirpuri
area. Actually, the police had gone to arrest the accused Sonu Sheikh, who
fired during the violence. Meanwhile, Sonu Sheikh's neighbors started pelting
stones at the police team.
2. Scrap dealer arrested for supplying bottles
Along with this, the accused Sheikh Hameed son Sheikh Oyed Ali, who was
involved in the violence, has been arrested. Sheikh Hameed is a scrap dealer.
During police interrogation, Sheikh Hameed has revealed that he had supplied
bottles for the violence which were used for stone pelting during the incident.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana, while answering all the questions
on Monday during the press conference regarding Jahangirpuri violence, has said
that strict action will be taken against those spreading rumors. When the Delhi
Police Commissioner was asked whether the violence that broke out during the
procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti was part of a longer conspiracy?
In response to this, Rakesh Asthana said that at present the matter is being
investigated. Describing the incident of that day, he said that there was a
clash in the procession at 6.15 pm. Stone pelting started. Police tried to
control the situation. Rakesh Asthana told that 14 teams have been formed to
investigate the violence. Will investigate from every angle. He has denied that
an attempt was made to put up the flag in front of the mosque.
2. Police Custody of Ansar and Aslam Extended
The police presented seven accused of violence in Jahangirpuri area in
Rohini Court on Monday. The court has extended the police custody of Ansar and
Aslam by two more days.
3. Government wanted violence to happen:

AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi attacked Delhi and the central government fiercely
regarding the Jahangirpuri violence case. Owaisi said, the Commissioner of
Delhi Police himself has said that the procession which was taken out in
Jahangirpuri was taken out without permission. What was the police doing when
the procession was being taken out? The police were sitting to watch the
spectacle? And what was the need of weapons in the procession? Owaisi said,
people had pistols in their hands. Is it religious to have sword and knife?
Various provocative slogans were also raised. In the Jahangirpuri case, Brinda
Karat and M Tiwari have alleged that people were armed with weapons in the
march taken out in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. In which many people were carrying
swords, sticks and weapons. In a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner, both
have also questioned the role of the police in the incident. It is also said
that these weapons were openly waved during the Shobha Yatra.
