The Kashmir Files: Anupam Kher gives cryptic response to Kapil Sharma's tweet thanking him, calls it 'half truth'

Few hours after Kapil Sharma's tweet related to The Kashmir Files, Anupam Kher has shared his response and it is as cryptic as it can be.


New Delhi: Kapil Sharma on Monday nigh shared a clip featuring Anupam Kher from a talk show and thanked him for clarification on the ongoing controversy surrounding The Kashmir Files and The Kapil Sharma Show. Few hours after comedian's tweet, Anupam Kher has shared his response and it is as cryptic as it can be.

Anupam Kher gave a cryptic reply to Kapil Sharma’s tweet wherein the comedian had thanked him for putting an end to the ‘false allegations’ with his statement. 

It seems like Anupam Kher did not like Kapil's tweet as he has accused him for presenting the half-truth. Replying to which, Anupam wrote how it would have been better had the comedian posted the full video that showed the entire truth. His tweet read, “Dear @KapilSharmaK9! I wish you had posted the full video and not the half truth. The entire world is celebrating, you also celebrate tonight. Love and prayers always!"


Earlier, Kapil shared Anupam's interview clip on Twitter and wrote, "Thank you paji @AnupamPKher for clarifying all the false allegations against me. Aur un sab dosto ka bhi shukriya jinhone bina sach jaane mujhe itni mohabbat di. Khush rahiye, muskurate rahiye (And thanks to all those people who gave me so much love without knowing the truth. Be happy, keep smiling). #thekapilsharmashow #Isupportmyself." 

The row started after Vivek Agnihotri, who has directed the film, claimed last week that Kapil didn't invite him on his show, The Kapil Sharma Show, to promote his film The Kashmir Files. After a fan said that they wanted to see the film's team on the show, Vivek responded, “They refused to call on their show because we don't have a big commercial star.” After Vivek's tweet, a section of Twitter users had called for the boycott of Kapil and his show.

The Kashmir Files is based on the exodus and killings of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir in the 90s. It stars Anupam, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumaar, and others. The film was released on March 11 and has collected a total of ₹27.15 crore in three days.
