Russia and Ukraine held a fourth round of talks on Monday, the 19th day of the Russian attack on Ukraine, but to no avail. These talks between the two countries through video conference will now continue on Tuesday as well. Ukraine's presidential adviser Mikhailo Podolyak has said that peace talks with Russia ended today, but will resume on Tuesday.

Podolyak tweeted, “Talks have been put on hold until tomorrow. This was done for additional work. The talks will continue." Mikhailo Podolyak also said that the talks were stopped so that the terms of the talks could be clarified. Earlier he had said that dialogue is taking place but it is difficult.

Russia's big charge amid talks

Russia said on Monday that 20 people were killed in an attack by Kyiv forces on the separatist stronghold of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. Russia accuses Kyiv of committing 'war crimes'. Moscow accused the Ukrainian military of firing Tochka-U missiles at a residential area in Donetsk. It was one of the most serious attacks on the city since the entry of Russian forces into Ukraine.

35 killed in missile attack on Sunday

Air strike alerts were heard overnight in cities across the country. Officials said a local councilor was killed in fighting in Brovry, east of Kyiv. Two people were killed after cannons fell on a nine-storey building in the city's northern district.
