women in the valley feel safe and the confidence of the people in the police
can be better. The police started it from Srinagar. It will be
extended further in the future.
At
present, two women safety squads have been formed by the Jammu and Kashmir
Police to ensure the safety of women in Srinagar. DIG Central Kashmir

District Police Srinagar for this initiative and said that it would bring down
crime against women and prevent crimes like the recent acid attack.
DIG
Central Kashmir Sujit Kumar said that these squads will patrol around the
school, college and coaching center in Srinagar. Apart from this, he will
also keep an eye on such places where there may be a danger to women, he said. He
said that these squads will also keep in touch with the management of
educational institutions so that immediate action can be taken in case of any
emergency. Each squad will consist of five women policemen or
officers.

the Srinagar Police. This number is already operational 24x7 for issues
related to the safety of women.

at all. Both preventive and corrective measures will be strictly
implemented in this regard.
