Punjab: Central government to probe Kumar Vishwas's claim, Amit Shah responds to Channi's letter

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has promised a probe into the alleged links between the Aam Aadmi Party and the banned Sikhs for Justice. He has said that the Government of India has taken this matter seriously.


Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, while replying to a letter by Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, promised a probe into the alleged links between the Aam Aadmi Party and the banned Sikhs for Justice. On Thursday, CM Channi made this demand from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Channi wrote through a tweet, "As the CM of Punjab, I request Prime Minister PM Narendra Modi to conduct a fair investigation into the matter of what Kumar Vishwas has said recently. Also said that politics aside, the people of Punjab have paid a heavy price while fighting separatism. The PM needs to address the concerns of every Punjabi.

In response to this, Home Minister Amit Shah has written to CM Channi, "It is very serious for a political party to have contact with an anti-national, separatist and banned organization and get cooperation in elections from the point of view of the integrity of the country." The agenda of such elements is no different from the agenda of the enemies of the country. It is highly condemnable that such people can go to the extent of joining hands with separatists to break Punjab and the country to get power.

Home Minister Shah further wrote, "On this subject, I assure you that no one will be allowed to play with the unity and integrity of the country." The Government of India has taken this very seriously and I myself will show this matter in depth.
